Clients must be individuals of Canadian Indian (on or off-reserve), Métis or Inuit heritage, or majority-owned Aboriginal organizations or development corporations. Performance Plus is an interactive on-line financial performance tool to help new and established firms determine how they measures up to the competition. It allows you to enter your company's financial data confidentially and compare it to industry averages. This tool will assist you in making sound operational decisions. Strategis is the Government of Canada, Industry Canada’s Business and Consumer site. Statistics Canada is a site which as most of you know produces statistics that help Canadians better understand their country—its population, resources, economy, society and culture etc. Canada Ontario Business Service Centre (COBSC) is the first point of contact for 1,200 federal and provincial service programs and regulations. It is designed to improve access and provide you with timely, accurate and comprehensive business-related information. Ontario Business Connects provides consumer and business information, including the Business Names Act. Canadian Economy Online provides economic and population information. Interactive Business Planner (IBP) is the first business planning software product designed specifically to operate on the World Wide Web. The IBP uses the capabilities of the Internet to assist entrepreneurs in preparing a 3 year business plan for their new or existing business. Ontario Government Site: Building Aboriginal Economies in Ontario is a gateway site to partnerships, practices, programs, and services designed to strengthen and build Aboriginal economies in Ontario. It provides excellent links to other programs and organizations serving Aboriginal business. Canada Business Service Centres: Business Start-Up Assistant provides information and resources on the basics of market research for starting a business in Ontario, including marketing plans, statistical sources and publications. Aboriginal Canada Portal is a window to Canadian Aboriginal online resources, contacts, information, and government programs and services. Business Gateway also provides access to business information for the small business owner. Aboriginal Business Service Network provides information and services for Aboriginal business. Aboriginal Business Directory is a directory of Aboriginal businesses. Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Business (PSAB) PSAB is open to all Aboriginal businesses. A business can include a sole proprietorship, limited company, co-operative, partnership, or not-for-profit organization. To be considered an Aboriginal business, a firm must meet the following criteria: at least 51 per cent of the firm is owned and controlled by Aboriginal people, and at least one third of the firm's employees, if it has six or more full-time staff, must be Aboriginal. BUSINESS RESOURCE SITES Business Statistics provides American business statistics: financial ratios, market sector size, sales per square foot, etc. It is a very comprehensive database of financial information. Youth Business is a new online community to help you develop as an entrepreneur, no matter what stage of the game you are at. It offers access to programs and resources and free membership with additional privileges i.e. “ask the expert” and online mentoring. The

organization in Canada that enables young entrepreneurs to pursue their
aspirations of building successful enterprises by providing business
